Christmas 2025 was successful at the Centre and planning is already underway for Christmas 2026. Some decorative new additions will result in some surprises for retailers and customers with further announcements to come. In the social media space WestCity now has two content creators who are changing up messaging especially around fashion offers.

April School Holidays
WestCity is running Kidchella – Boho style during the April School Holidays down on Level One near Jay Jays. This will run from 11am until 2pm each day of the School Holidays starting Tuesday 7th until Sunday 19th April. The activation timing aligns with Easter, with Good Friday falling on 3rd April.

WestCity Gift Cards
From March this year, all new gift cards sold in New Zealand must have a minimum 3-year expiry date, according to the Fair Trading (Gift Card Expiry) Amendment Act 2024. WestCity has already changed Gift Cards to pre-empt this change in legislation. WestCity Waitakere Gift cards purchased after 1st February 2026, will expire 36 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date is displayed on the back of the gift card.

Updated WestCity Website
Recently WestCity Waitakere launched a new website including a new improved Centre map. The aim of this new site is to improve user experience, drive customer engagement, increase customer satisfaction and provide stronger support to retailers. WestCity’s Centre map uses modern technology to help improve discovery, accessibility, car parking locations and retailer locations within the Centre.
