This launch represents a strategic step forward for both our members and the wider West Auckland community. It represents a shift in how we connect businesses with customers, and how we connect businesses with each other.
For consumers, the new platform becomes a central destination to discover the best businesses in West Auckland. Think of it as a digital shopping centre that is organised, easy to navigate, and built around quality local providers.
Visitors will be able to browse by industry category, view detailed member profiles, explore special promotions, and access content from the WEst magazine in a digital article format.
Importantly, the site will highlight member deals and promotions in a clear and accessible way. Consumers will also be encouraged to join our VIP consumer programme, giving them direct access to exclusive offers and updates. Over time, this will allow Business West to build a meaningful local audience database, one that benefits our members by increasing visibility, engagement, and repeat business.
For our members, however, the transformation goes much deeper.
Behind the public-facing platform sits a dedicated member dashboard, a secure environment designed to enhance connection, professionalism, and opportunity. Members will have access to resources, event information, professional development programmes, and tools.
The dashboard includes a centralised events hub where members can view upcoming Business after 5 (BA5) gatherings, business breakfasts, ConnectHer events, and workshops. Members can link the events calendar directly to their own calendars, ensuring they never miss an opportunity to connect. Coverage of past events and media highlights, will be available, building a sense of momentum and shared achievement.
An enhanced set of tools will be available to Members; providing access to security information, retail analytics reports presented in more digestible formats, and curated educational content. Training opportunities including first aid certification, AI and automation workshops, and other business capability programmes will be managed through an expression of interest system, removing the guesswork and ensuring courses are delivered when there is demand.
Professional development pathways, including programmes like the New Zealand Certificate in Business and Business Mentors support, will be clearly presented so members can see tangible value from their involvement in the association.
Every business will have the opportunity to present itself through a richer, more dynamic profile, effectively a mini digital storefront within the Business West environment. This allows members to showcase services, tell their story, and connect with potential customers more effectively than ever before.
Over time, we will introduce intelligent systems to help keep these profiles current and relevant, ensuring that the platform remains a living, evolving representation of West Auckland enterprise.
At its heart, this digital evolution reflects a simple principle: collective strength.
When consumers know where to find trusted local providers, everyone benefits. When members connect more easily with each other, share knowledge, and participate in events and training, the entire business community grows stronger. When Business West can communicate more effectively through articles, email updates, social media, and digital resources, we reinforce our role as the voice of business in the West.
This new platform is the foundation for the next chapter.
We encourage consumers to explore, discover, and support local. We encourage members to log in, update profiles, explore resources, and take advantage of the opportunities available. We invite everyone to see businesswest.co.nz not just as a website, but as a shared space that represents the ambition, resilience, and professionalism of West Auckland businesses.
The doors are opening in April.
